Oct. 17th, 2015-A Night I Won't Forget!
I have lived long enough to have now experienced the feeling that George Bailey experienced in "It's A Wonderful Life." At break time at a typical Saturday Night Dance in East Longmeadow, I had the shock of a lifetime. I was told to sit in a chair, a podium was wheeled out and I looked to my left. There was my wife Kathy, Mayor Richard Cohen and his brother Alan, Ethel Lee, Peter Annone, Sally Jo Stevens and photographing all-John Balboni. The kindest words I've ever heard were read by Ed Ligner, John Reed, Mayor Cohen, and Peter Annone. Congratulations were read from Sen. Don Humason who was at The Noble Ball. A proclamation from Mayor Dom Sarno of Springfield was given to me. There were three beautiful cakes for the crowd to enjoy. What a night. I would like to thank everyone for making me feel so special. There are times when one reflects on their life and questions the value of their time on earth. This night showed me that although I might not have achieved many goals that I might have hoped for, or acquired the wealth that would make life easier and less of a struggle, I have found the wealth of George Bailey. I know that I have touched many lives through the gift of music and for the friends it has brought me, I am eternally grateful.
